アブーリウの主な産地

アブーリウは、主にフランス南西部とカルフォルニアで栽培されている黒ブドウです。

現在ではボルドーの内陸部に位置するノートルダム大聖堂が有名なコート・デュ・マルマンデ地方とカルフォルニアごく少量が赤ワイン用に栽培されています。

アブーリウの特徴

この品種は酸味が少なくタンニンが多いため、ブレンドに適しています。

アブーリウはボルドーの赤品種であるマルベック、カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン、カベルネ・フラン、メルローとブレンドされることがあります。

アブーリウの木は樹勢が強く収量も多くまた、病気にも比較的強いので生産者に人気のある品種です。

発芽と成熟が早いので、春に霜が降りない冷涼な場所に適しています。

かつて広く栽培されていたカリフォルニアでは、アブーリウはアーリーブルゴーニュと呼ばれることもありました。

アブーリウに合う料理は【鴨のコンフィ】【豚肉のリブのバーベキュー】【牛肉の煮込み】など、時間をかけて味を染み込ませた複雑な味の料理に合うワインです。
